If Odex rules the world, anime Blogging is R.I.P.

Here is a piece of bad news. If Odex rules the world, I believe chances are 0%, anime blogging will be killed, if not, everyone will be blogging like me, with my technical problem.

Odex has started this Video On Demand, VOD, system. It is made to provide legal subbed by Odex anime, one week after release in japan. Guess what, it has been un-updated since the day it begun. Minus the change of payment method.

Apparently, from what I know, screenshots are impossible to take from the VOD videos due heavy protection. Gah~~~ Why is Odex so evil…

Gundam 00 ep 2-5

Once again, sorry for the missing screenshots.

Now, back on blogging, I’ve been watching Gundam OO even will I was having exams. Well, during study breaks. Ok, From what I can see, episodes 2 & 3 was based quite a bit on current affairs. Tamils Tigers, catholics and Protestants. Instead of keeping an action pack pace, its starting to tone down, and finally I can confirm, my favorite character is Louise.

All Hail Louise…

That aside, the plot also seems very similar to gundam wing as of now.  I hope they create some unexpected twist somewhere in the middle.

As for the Gundams, I think Dynames is the best, followed by Exia. Virtue is the worst. I just, for some reason, just can;t stand both its design and pilot.

Back to Louise. Among my friends, they probably know that my favorite BLEACH character is Hinamori. If its in terms of the first movie, Memories of Nobody, Its Senna. Louise Voice actor is the same as Senna. The voice is so good. But still, nothing compared to Hirano.

Ok, thats the good news. Now for the bad news. My comp is giving me hell lot of problems with photobucket. I don’t know why, but its simply giving me problems. So as of now, I will not be able to post screenshot. T_T, but I’ll still do blogging. Mah~~~ Sorry guys for this technical error on my side.

Due to upcoming exams, I’ll be offline, probably like over the past week or so. I’ll do outdated anime bloging and etc. after my exams are over. I feel the withdrawal symptoms…. I want to watch my anime, but I can’t. I have not even watch Shana or Gundam double O. T_T Why must exams exist.

機動戦士ガンダム00, Gundam 00 :Episode 1

 

Yes, after such a long wait. Gundam 00 has finally made itself onto the screens. The first episode is definitely promising without a doubt. The introduction of characters was a little fast, and they have yet to tell us the name of all the characters. Mah~~~

The opening theme was pretty good, the ending theme was relatively ok.

In terms of voice acting, some characters seems rather dull at this point. Not too sure whether its bad acting, or the character simply has some bad personality. Whichever is also irritating. We need more lively and innocent characters like Stellar and Nicol. Damn that Kira for killing them.

Best of all, have a Gundam Version of Kamina (Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann). (Below)

In terms of storyline, its still very misty as I have not a single idea who is who. I only remember that Setsuna pilot exia Gundam, which completely sucks at long range combat.

That aside. There has been a few shot of this character.

Guess just have to wait for episode 2. Gah~~~~~

If the episodes continue to be as good as this, I’ll consider getting my hands on the DVD, maybe through import, but definitely not Odex.

Behind the Drill, The spiral in reality… Reflections on ‘Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann’

Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann has ended. My time in my secondary school is coming to an end to. Its quite amusing that such an action packed anime could actually be so real, in terms of how the characters feels etc.  Quite a number of the characters link to common real life situation, which I find really interesting in a way.

The Kamina…

Well, basically the someone who gives you the first step, but this first step he take you brings you a long way. Some what like teachers.

The Rossiu…

One who in a way rides on other and claims much glory for himself in the end, yet he silently respects those who have supported him.

The Simon…

Which I guess kinda links to myself in a way. He starts of as a ‘un-named’ digger, who just does insignificant things.

He soon rises to a point of gaining respect from others and later gain recognition.

He is then the man who pushes things to the peak.

In the end, he is nobody.

Well, in my situation, I came to the school as a normal, not known to many, student. I pursued my club activities such a photography, Drama and science. In my final year, I became the pioneer in the school to do 3D animation for a national examination. Which resulted in the school starting up a 3D studio. Now that I’m leaving, I’m losing my posts, my reputation bit by bit. I guess, soon I’ll become a nobody too.

Well, thats about it for now. Mah~~~ *depressed*

灼眼のシャナ, Shakugan no Shana - Movie

Lol, Just watched the movie, a little late I guess.

Anyways, here is my first comment on the movie. Its surely worth getting on DVD, but not worth the importing cost. I’ll sure to grab it if its released locally and not by ODEX.

Oh, aide from the movie, I’ve changed my screen shot format so I won’t be blocked by my blog’s template.
Back to the movie, I personally find that the first half was a near complete rip off from the original show, just that they spammed quite a bit of animation effects.

The explanation of the torches, flame haze etc. was very rushed through,  making the movie seem too rushed. For those who did not watch the series may get quite confused with what is going on in the movie.  Margery Daw’s appearance was also too rushed, and fans of her would probably be very disappointed. The role she plays in the movie is rather insignificant. Mah~~~~

The second half was a major twist to the story, and at last, Marian was made useful, at least a bit useful. What more can I expect from a doll?

Oh, not to mention, alastor also had quite a fancy appearance in the movie. Mah~~~ I just said some spoiler.

There are also qite a bit of fan service in the movie, even during fights. Quite a few frames of Shana’s skirt going out of place (Putting it in a nice way), so if its coming to Singapore, those few frames may just make it NC 16, or even M18. Singapore is that  protective of her citizens.

Mah~~~ What to do, must live with it.

夢で逢えたなら・・・ ~ 仮面ライダー電王 俺、誕生！Theme Song

“Yume De Aeta Nara…” Theme song for the Kamen Rider Den-O Movie, Ore Tanjo.

After so long, I finally got my hands on this song. Its pretty worth listening to I’d say. Quite a bit of mix feelings if you slowly try to follow the flow of the music. There is some sense of relieve, yet sadness. Yeah, quite hard to explain. A very nostalgic feeling. Something like ‘Good-Bye Days’ by YUI. That kind of feeling upon hearing the song.

Aono - Life of Surreal

Here is one of my marker works that murdered 3 markers. Took me a week and slightly more to complete. Possibly the longest time I ever took to finish one piece of
work.

Ok that aside, this section of text below would mainly be for those who watch Sola. Its basically the explaination for the BG design, which draws much like to the anime Sola.

Lets started from the left hand bottom area.
The Design was inspired by the stained glass at the church where Matsuri first stayed. The Black jagged design was done based on the ending animation, the part where they show something like the shadow of the tree growing.

Above it would be the sky.
The clouds are shaded as Yakas can only come out in the day when it is raining. The sun is also shaded to show it must be dark before the Yakas are allowed to roam. The Black symbol at the clouds is simply there to represent to need for darkness. Something like Batman style, where the shine the Batman logo into the sky. In this case, its like shining darkness to represent that its ok for the Yaka’s to come out of the shelters from the sun.

On the right of the sky are some checker like design.
Basically those design represent the origami Aono does. Throughout the show, it was used for both good and bad. It can bring happiness, sadness and even pain to people.

On the right, first its the Camera, representing Yorito, followed by their House, and lastly the umbrella, to represent Matsuri. The rough hatching in the srea around these objects is to represent Rain.

In any case, I submitted this drawing for the Fresh Mode Magazine competition in August, however, the September issue isn’t even out. Dying to know whether I won. If I did win, its gonna be buying Mangas at Kinokuniya for me. Mah~~~

Toppa Tengen Gurren Lagann on NDS

Lol, Gurren Lagann is coming out on NDS. Judging from the cover, both Kamina and Nia is gonna be in it. Still not sure how the gameplay would be though. Well, Good thing it come out in the middle, or rather closer to the end of the exams. Enough time for them to bring stock to Singapore. Mah~~~
